POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Key Account Manager (KAM) owns the brand relationship with Amazon EMEA and is responsible for driving profitable sales growth and strengthening the relationship with this important strategic customer.
The KAM works collaboratively with marketing, commercial and the brand to define and execute plans to drive traffic, increase conversion through high quality online execution, improve operational efficiency and availability, and ensure product sufficiency needs are met.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Business Relationship Owner: Owns the relationship for the brand and builds strong connections with key Amazon decision makers. Manages the relationship with third party agencies supporting the business. Co-ordinates internal stakeholders and manages the communication with Amazon.
• Business Plan Responsibility: Collaborates with Brand, Marketing and Commercial teams to develop multi-year business plans. Builds strategies and develops tactics to accelerate growth and improve profitability. Creates and implements promotional plans tailored to consumer buying habits and Amazon’s promotional calendar. Provides inputs on product sufficiency and manages product lifecycle on Amazon.
• Operational Plan Responsibility: Builds and executes the annual operational plan to exceed revenue targets and deliver defined Amazon KPIs.
• Sell Thru Activities: Drives sell-through utilising insights & analytics and co-ordinating with marketing/agency to drive traffic. Manages in-season negotiations, promotional investments and buy box/price optimization.
• Order Book Ownership: Owns the customer category order book and ensures that the order book is tightly managed according to internal policies and to the customer order book expectations. Follows up and challenges.
• Drive Operational Efficiencies: Becomes the Amazon expert and provides inputs to internal teams on Amazon expectations related to operational excellence. Works with finance/CS teams to complete chargeback analysis, identify root causes and solve them.
• Forecasting: Owns the revenue forecasting at brand/category level. Works collaboratively with demand planning to ensure inventory levels are sufficient to maximise availability and revenue. Owns the forecasting for major promotional events to maximise revenue and sell-thru.
• Sell In Activities: Manages sell-in processes and co-ordinates with product content team to list products that convert. Ensures product catalogue is managed effectively.
• Customer P & L Management: Manages agreements for in season investments and promotional activity. Ensures charge back cost lines are managed and reduced to agreed target levels.
• Matrix Management: Builds strong relationships across the matrix (Commercial team/CS/Finance/Marketing) to facilitate operational excellence for the customer and ensures that all key stakeholders are regularly updated on business progress.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors’ or Master’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent
• 3+ years of specific, substantial Ecommerce experience (Amazon Vendor Central and Direct Selling experience a Plus)
• 3-5 years of account management experience in branded consumer good industry; athletic, outdoor, or sporting goods markets preferred
• Expertise in data management and analysis with excellent numerical skills
