POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for managing the assortment and inventory sufficiency to deliver the growth of Wilson Ecommerce in EMEA.
Working closely with supply chain and site merchandising teams you will forecast, plan and optimize inventory to delight the consumer and maximise sales, margin and sell thru.
You will drive the future assortment needs of the channel, utilizing data analytics and conveying the consumer perspective when building recommendations.
You will provide clear insights to the ecommerce team on product and category rate of sale and inventory sufficiency to aid the planning of commercial activations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Merchandise Analysis
• Manage and control inventory levels, in partnership with Supply, to optimize sales, gross margin and sell through of product.
• Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by category and product type.
• Using current and historical sales data; plan and forecast in-season sales and inventory on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
Inventory Planning
• Forecast future inventory needs and manage contract creation for all countries and categories.
• Work with Supply Chain to regularly optimize contracts and ensure we have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time.
• Proactively build recommendations of inventory to be included in promotions or activations to reduce overstock and drive revenue.
• Support site merchandising with inventory management for both long term planned, and short term ad-hoc activations.
Merchandise Planning
• Make clear recommendations on the assortment needed for Wilson Ecom, based on both consumer needs and maximizing sales, margin and profit.
• Understand consumer and local market requirements through research and sales analysis.
• Build strong & collaborative relationships with Brand Commercial Leads & Supply Chain.
• Work closely with marketing and site merchandising to ensure alignment between assortment plans, brand initiatives, promotions and activations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 2 years’ experience of retail or wholesale merchandise planning.
• A proven track record of success in merchandising
• Knowledge and experience with merchandising systems, processes and best practices.
• Outdoor and/or sport experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of the digital retail environment and of the retail industry in general
