POSITION TITLE: EMEA Merchandising Lead – Salomon A&G
LOCATION: Garching near Munich, Germany

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As EMEA Merchandising Lead – Salomon A&G, you will be responsible for building and evolving merchandising functional excellence (capabilities, process, KPI’s, tools), leading the seasonal Go-To-Market success and achieving sustainable business results (topline, PGP, inventory management, sell-thru management). You will play a vital role to achieve a successful ‘product centric’ operations.

Building and evolving merchandising functional excellence (capabilities, process, KPI’s, tools):
  • Being the subject owner of “Product” in the organization, consistently reviewing, taking actions to elevate merchandising organizational capabilities, merchandising operation excellence with brand peers and stakeholders in order to enable portfolio success “win with consumer at retail”.
  • Building a winning organization: identifying key merchandising competencies required to enable the end-to-end brand to consumer business model, bringing right people on board and enabling them to work together as an effective team.
  • Building an effective merchandising operation: defining and installing effective sub-functional processes, tools and KPI’s to achieve a solid team work and performance.    
  • Creating a culture and approach of consumer insights and sell-thru informed merchandising from strategic planning to retail success.
  • Product marketing excellence: being comfortable and competent to lead across functions of compelling product story telling on key and new initiatives.
Leading the seasonal Go-To-Market success:
  • Process Lead: playing a leading role in a ‘product’ centric operation across functions, i.e., I2P (idea to product), go-to-market (from sell-in to sell-thru), demand planning and sales &operations.
  • I2P: leading brand merchandising managers to be the voice of EMEA with brand on product development, line plan and key product stories.
  • Driver of the seasonal GTM process: planning and driving key gates and deliverables with functional stakeholders of sales, retail and marketing.
  • Leading brand merchandising managers being the air traffic controllers across functions to achieve an effective merchandising flow.
  • Being the owner of demand planning and working in close partnership with supply chain, finance and sales on S&OP success with brand stakeholders.
Achieving sustainable business results (topline, PGP, inventory management, sell-thru management):
  • Short term: supporting GM to drive an effective S&OP practice to achieve short term (quarter and annual) business results via identifying gaps and effective gap closing actions (sales, demand, supply and inventory management).
  • Medium term: participating the 3-year SBP (strategic business planning), budgeting process from merchandising point of view.
  • Seasonal Commercial Planning: being a solid contributor to the cross-functional commercial planning and being the lead and owner of merchandising strategy and programs.
YOUR PROFILE:
  • Degree level in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising
  • Experience in sports industry marketing
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Understanding of product relevant subjects from I2P to Sell-Thru
  • P & L responsibility
  • Fluent in English
