POSITION TITLE: Demand & Supply planner (m/f), EMEA
LOCATION: Garching near Munich

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 
As Demand & Supply Planner for EMEA you will be responsible for producing the most accurate demand plans in support of the sales and operations planning process. You will strongly collaborate with GTM commercial teams. After Demand plan has been approved, you will manage Purchase Order requisitions for the respective suppliers (both internal and external). You will be working in a planning expert community to improve forecast accuracy and service in EMEA.
  • Providing a monthly baseline forecast fed with best market intelligence possible, communicating recommendations, sharing guidelines from Business Administration and information from GTM by working closely with the Business Unit Supply Chain teams and the GTM commercial roles (Regional Sales Director, Local Sales Manager).
  • Coordinating cross functional disciplines to prove the consensus demand plan that is accurate and in line with market, historical, statistical and developing trends.
  • Being in charge of basic set up and updates of templates, tools and ranges (GRM maintenance).
  • Reviewing, analysing and challenging the forecast, arbitrating between the risk of stocks and the risk of shortages/delays.
  • Placing an accurate, agreed and signed off forecast into the systems.
  • Supporting the end to end range management process including material and system setup.
  • Interacting with Sales and Commercial peers to solicit key market and environmental impacts.
  • Working closely with demand planning counterparts in America as a key member of the global Sales & Operations processes.
  • Facilitating monthly S&OP meetings with Commercial, Sales, and Finance. Recommending adjustments to the overall operational forecasts, and finding consensus amongst the team.
  • Preparing relevant material to facilitate discussion and action during the monthly consensus meetings.
  • Distributing and consolidating the global range management files.
  • Monitoring trends in forecast error.
  • Setting up and updating the demand planning systems with relevant seasonal/market-related data and competitive intelligence.
  • Preparing and maintaining relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process.
  • Supporting Inventory/SKU control – working with Commercial to reduce complexity in the ranges, supporting the Distribution Centers to setup each season, working with Sales and B2C to liquidate the old.
  • Reconciling actual supply vs actual demand to help with fulfilment and future planning.
  • Following up on MRP supply requisitions and creating purchase orders based on these requisitions.
  • Managing purchase orders and updating SAP accordingly.
YOUR PROFILE:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; or equivalent work experience and education may be considered
  • 2-3 years’ experience with demand/supply planning (seasonal soft goods experience preferred)
  • Retail and/or sporting goods industry experience 
  • Expert in Excel (required)
  • S&OP/IBP processes
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience with various reporting tools (SAP BI, Business Objects, ClickView)
  • JDA software experience a bonus
  • Comfortable communicating with Senior leadership
  • Previous experience presenting and negotiating with executive level management as well as influencing with in a matrix environment
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills, knowledge of German language is a benefit
  • A minimum of up to 20% travel may be required (domestic and/or international)
