POSITION TITLE: Export Compliance Specialist / Manager (m/f)
LOCATION: Garching near Munich (other locations maybe considered)

As Export Compliance Specialist / Manager (m/f) you will ensure Customs & Trade (import / export) activities of Amer Sports are fully compliant and performed in accordance with applicable export control laws, regulations and related internal procedures on a global basis. The role may evolve in time to include other customs technical topics or roles, depending on the extent of Export Control processes deemed necessary to fit the Corporation's profile. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Managing export control classifications and trade and customs documentation, assuring compliance with denied party lists, embargoes, sanctions and other matters of trade and customs compliance (e.g. Dual Use Regulations).
  • Managing operational trade and customs issues related to export control regulations, including coordination and professional support of external audits by the Customs Authorities.
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating/updating internal procedures, policies, and tools related to import and export, in order to ensure business compliance and improve efficiency in respect to export control laws and regulations.
  • Examining and assessing authorisations, license types and exemptions of export controlled processes, goods, and services.
  • Managing internal records concerning trade and customs activities in accordance with the applicable export control requirements.
  • Monitoring and providing support in the implementation of new legally prescribed regulations (changes in laws and regulations concerning export control and sanctions).
  • Conducting phased project work as required.
  • Supporting automation technology for managing documentation and data required for export control-related trade compliance and operations to drive process improvements via automation.
  • Preparing and providing regular updates on business performance and progress on export control-related trade and customs compliance issues.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in e.g. legal, customs & trade, supply chain, or logistics (or equivalent diplomas).
  • Profound knowledge of regulations, laws, policies and regulations of around national (EU/US) and international foreign trade.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in international trade compliance with extensive knowledge of foreign trade law, as well as experience working in an export control capacity for a medium to large size company.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficient in international import/ export processes (handling of cross-border shipments, required documentation, incoterms, export licenses, brokering authorizations and customs declaration management).
  • Knowledge and experience with dual-use and export issues and customs regulations, AEO, C-TPAT/ PIP, and sanctions; and sufficient level of knowledge of EU and US export control regimes and regulations.
  • Experience in determining the appropriate Export Control Classification Number (ECCN).
  • Experience in creating, maintaining and monitoring compliance with trade and customs controls and processes.
  • Proficient standard in IT skills including SAP ERP, MS Office, and reporting and management tools to create reports, proposals and evaluations. Familiarity with trade compliance applications, such as SAP GTS, Amber Road, MIC or similar system is an advantage.
