POSITION TITLE: Demand Planner & Business Analyst (m/f) EMEA
LOCATION: Garching near Munich

As Demand Planner & Business Analyst (m/f) EMEA you will be responsible for producing the most accurate demand plans in support of the sales and operations planning process. You will work in a planning expert community to improve forecast accuracy and service in EMEA, as well as have a strong collaboration with go-to-market (GTM) commercial teams.

  • Providing a monthly baseline forecast fed with the best market intelligence, communicating recommendations and sharing guidelines between brands and GTM teams.
  • Coordinating cross functional disciplines to prove the consensus demand plan that is accurate and in line with market, historical, statistical and developing trends.
  • Being in charge of basic set up and updates of templates, tools and ranges.
  • Reviewing, analysing and challenging the forecast, arbitrating between the risk of stocks and the risk of shortages/delays.
  • Placing an accurate, agreed and signed off forecast into the systems.
  • Supporting the end-to-end range management process including material and system setup.
  • Interacting with sales and commercial peers to solicit key market and environmental impacts.
  • Working closely with demand planning counterparts in America as a key member of the global sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Facilitating monthly S&OP meetings with commercial, sales and finance teams; recommending adjustments to the overall operational forecasts and finding consensus amongst the team.
  • Preparing relevant material to facilitate discussion and action during the monthly consensus meetings.
  • Distributing and consolidating of the global range management files.
  • Monitoring trends in forecast error.
  • Setting up and updating demand planning systems with relevant seasonal/market-related data and competitive intelligence.
  • Preparing and maintaining relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process.
  • Supporting inventory/SKU control – working with commercial teams to reduce complexity in the ranges.
  • Reconciling actual supply vs actual demand to help with fulfilment and future planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field required, or equivalent work experience
  • Min. 2 years’ experience with demand/supply planning (seasonal soft goods experience preferred) and knowledge of S&OP/IBP processes
  • Retail and/or sporting goods industry experience required
  • Expert knowledge in Excel essential
  • Experience with various reporting tools (SAP BI, Business Objects, ClickView) an advantage
  • JDA software experience a plus
  • Previous experience presenting and negotiating with executive level management as well as influencing with in a matrix environment
